Siddipet
Siddipet is a city and a Greater municipality in Medak district, Andhra Pradesh, India, with a population of 145,316. It is the second biggest town in the Medak district and is 104 kilometres (65 mi) away from Hyderabad and 86 kilometres (53 mi) away from Secunderabad.
Geography:
Siddipet is located at 18°06′N 78°51′E / 18.1°N 78.85°E / 18.1; 78.85. It has an average elevation of 675 metres (2,215 ft). The Komati Cheruvu and the Yerra Cheruvu are tributaries of the Manjira river, which is a tributary of Godavari. These rivers run through Siddipet.
Demographics
According to the Indian census of 2001, Siddipet had a population of 61,809. Now as per 2011, Siddipet had a population of approximately 1,60,000 (It happened by merging of two neighbour villages in Siddipet municipality). Males constituted 50% of the population and females 50%. Siddipet has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 60%. In Siddipet, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. There are 32 wards in the municipality.
